CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A suspect accused of robbing the SouthPark Mall Nordstrom store before threatening to shoot a security officer is being sought, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Nordstrom store located within SouthPark Mall. An initial investigation stated that an unknown suspect stole merchandise, listed in the police report as a vintage car t-shirt and pants.

A prevention officer attempted to stop the suspect, who threatened to shoot the officer, according to the police report. The officer then retreated out of fear of being shot and the suspect fled the scene.
