CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Emergency personnel responded to a psych call on an I-277 overpass near uptown Charlotte Thursday where multiple traffic delays were reported.

The incident began around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, near Morehead and Tryon.

CMPD and Charlotte Medic responded to the scene where they said South Tryon Street over I-277 and the inner lanes of I-277 were closed “due to police activity.”

Around 11:50 a.m., CMPD said all lanes had reopened. Charlotte Medic confirmed they were still at the scene Thursday morning on I-277 and “expected everything to be OK.”

Expect residual heavy traffic in the area.
