Charlotte airport concourse expansion has new places to eat, auto-tinting glass

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The newest addition to Charlotte Douglas International Airport will open next week.

CLT airport officials are showing off the recently completed Concourse A expansion that opens on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The 200,000-square-foot addition has 10 new gates, four places to eat and new location for the Queen City’s oldest distillery, Great Wagon Road.

Delta Airlines also is expected to open a 15,000-square-foot Sky Club in the concourse by the end of the year.

“The opening of Concourse A Expansion – Phase II marks a significant milestone for CLT and the Destination CLT program,” said CLT Chief Executive Officer Haley Gentry. “This addition not only represents growth, but a dedication to enhancing the overall travel experience.

The Concourse A expansion also includes diverse artworks and automatically tinting glass to control temperatures. Phase I of the facility upgrade was completed in 2018.
