MAIDEN, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Two Catawba County residents are facing charges following a drug investigation involving homeland security and NCSBI officials, Maiden Police announced on Friday.

A search warrant was executed at a home on East Main Street where Maiden resident Paul Baker, 72, and Conover resident Rebecca Huitron, 43, were both arrested on Thursday.

Ms. Huitron was charged with felony possession of cocaine while Baker was charged with gun possession as a felon and cocaine possession. Baker has already appeared in court and is being held on a $750,000 secured bond.

NCSBI, Homeland Security, and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Why are so many details of this arrest left unanswered. When homeland security is involved I would think that the public would be curious to know why, obviously.
