    Man charged with Caldwell County murder after being accused of shooting acquaintance ‘multiple times’

    LENOIR, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Caldwell County Friday afternoon.

    According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a shooting in the Gamewell community where male was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

    Morganton teen charged with making violent threats toward Caldwell County high school

    Their investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between acquaintances. The victim, who has yet to be identified, later succumbed to his injuries.

    The sheriff’s office arrested 49-year-old Jeffrey Dewayne Ferguson, who was charged with murder. He was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center under no bond. The investigation is ongoing.
