    3 hurt in “very serious accident” that closed I-485 in northeast Charlotte

    CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — I-485 is closed in northeast Charlotte due to a crash, according to NCDOT.

    The crash was reported around 1:45 p.m. on I-485 Outer near mile-marker 32 (North Tryon Street). Multiple lanes are closed and not expected to reopen until around 6:45 p.m.

    Charlotte Fire and Medic are responding to the crash that’s described as a, “Very serious accident,” by Medic. 3 patients in total were transported to the hospital, two with life-threatening injuries and another with serious injuries.

    Queen City News has a crew heading to the scene. It is unclear if anyone was injured or what led up to the crash.
