    Search underway for driver accused of hitting, killing Mooresville woman

    MOORESVILLE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) – Mooresville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle they say fled the scene of a deadly accident this weekend.

    The fatal hit-and-run occurred between 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, and 12:02 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, on Rocky River Road between Milroy Lane and Royalton Road.

    According to police, the vehicle struck Shaelyn Ellen Bell, 20, from Mooresville, and fled the area. She was pronounced deceased at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

    Authorities said a piece of the right, front bumper of a white 2023-2025 Kia Seltos was found at the scene. Mooresville Police believe this vehicle is connected to the deadly hit-and-run.

    Anyone who spots this vehicle or has further information is asked to call Mooresville Cpl. Sharpe at 704-420-1105 or 9-1-1 immediately.
