    Charlotte man wins $100k scratch-off lottery prize

    CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Charlotte man won big with a $30 scratch-off, the NC Lottery reports.

    Jorge Meraz Mendez bought a $5,000,000 Ultimate ticket from the Yorkmont BP in southwest Charlotte and won a $100,000 prize.

    On Monday, Mendez went to lottery headquarters in Raleigh to claim his winnings. After taxes, he took home $65,500.

    The $5,000,000 Ultimate game was released in March 2023 with five top prizes of $5 million and fifteen $100,000 prizes.
