    4,000 without power in northwest Salisbury: Duke Energy

    SALISBURY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Thousands of customers have lost power Monday night as strong storms roll through the region.

    According to the Duke Energy outage map , over 4,000 customers around Statesville Boulevard and Jake Alexander Boulevard West have lost power. The cause of the outage has not been released.

    Salisbury highway blocked from downed tree: City

    Salisbury wasn’t the only area losing power. Over 1,000 in the Newport area of York County lost power due to something coming in contact with powerlines. Another 1,000 customers south of the City of Belmont on S. Point Road were without power.

    This comes after Statesville Boulevard was blocked for several hours by a downed tree earlier in the day.
