    1 hospitalized after train strikes car outside of uptown Charlotte: Medic

    CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – One person is in the hospital after a train struck a car overnight just outside of uptown Charlotte Tuesday morning.

    Medic said one person was transported from the scene with non-life-threatening injuries near Pecan Ave. and Bay Street around 3:18 a.m. on Tuesday just east of Uptown.

    CSX confirmed with Queen City News the train came in contact with an occupied vehicle while it was crossing near Pecan and Bay. “There were no reported injuries to the crew of the train. Charlotte Police responded and reported that the driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. CSX appreciates the swift response of the local first responders. The incident is under investigation.”
