CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — James Dunmore, of Charlotte, appeared before a judge on Monday afternoon. FOX affiliate WRAL in Raleigh reported that the judge denied Dunmore’s lawyer’s motion for a dismissal in the murder case.

During Monday’s court appearance, the judge said they did find evidence that the state violated Dunmore’s constitutional rights for having confidential medical records and then ordered the documents be destroyed. Lawyers for the state said no one looked at the documents.

Dunmore is charged with murder in Allisha Watts’ death. She disappeared after seeing a comedy show with him in July last year. Two days later, police found Dunmore in Watts’ vehicle, and her body was found a month later in Montgomery County.

This case is being handled out of Montgomery County.
