    CMS bus driver injured injured in Pineville-Matthews crash: Medic

    PINEVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One person is seriously injured from a crash involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools bus Tuesday afternoon.

    According to Medic officials, the crash occurred around 5 p.m. in the 8200 block of Pineville-Matthews Road, near McMullen Creek Parkway. No students were reportedly on board the bus, but three people were injured.

    The Pineville Fire Department reported five vehicles were involved, including the CMS bus, a tractor-trailer and a Nissan pickup truck.

    The person who was treated with serious injuries was transported to Atrium Health CMC. Two others had minor injuries, Medic said.

    CMS officials say the bus driver was not seriously injured, but was still transported. The accident is under investigation.
