    Unidentified man hit by car near Villa Heights dies hours after crash: CMPD

    CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — An unidentified man is dead after being struck by a car, according to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.

    Just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, officers were called to N. Davidson Street and Parkwood Avenue, where they found a man, unresponsive in the middle of the intersection The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

    Investigators say the man was crossing N. Davidson Street when he was hit by a Honda Accord which had a green light.

    The driver of the Honda tried to give medical aid to the man and stayed with him at the site of the crash, CMPD says. The driver was not impaired.

    That afternoon, the man died from his injuries. Currently, police do not know who he is.
