Public assistance requested to help locate suspect in east Charlotte homicide

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Homicide detectives with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department need the public’s help locating a suspect wanted in connection to a deadly east Charlotte shooting.

The picture below is the person CMPD is looking for:

On September 26, officers responded to the 1700 block of Eastcrest Drive and found 25-year-old Khyre’ Grier dead from a gunshot wound.

49-year-old Fabio Funes was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

In this case, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers are offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
