Bear sighting in Dallas: ‘Take some photos, stay out of its way’

DALLAS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Multiple reports of a bear sighting in Gaston County are causing a stir.

Dallas Police said the reports, which included a video sent to them from a school bus driver, came in from around the area of Pine Street, Robinson Street, and Border Street. “use caution if you happen to see it; don’t approach it, try to capture it or chase it.”

Wildlife authorities said to “let nature do nature” and to take pictures and enjoy its presence while maintaining safety. “It’s most likely looking to get back to “home” or a new home since the tree clearing was occurring today in the area,” Dallas PD said.

“Please be aware of your and your family’s surroundings, including pets. We don’t want anyone to get injured, including the bear.”
