Losing streak continues for the Panthers with a loss to the Chicago Bears, 36 to 10

CHICAGO, IL. ( CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE ) — The Carolina Panthers were looking to add another win to their only season victory against the Las Vegas Raiders. The team came into Sunday’s match after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals, 34 to 24.

Both teams went three-and-out on their first drives of the game, but on their second, both teams scored touchdowns. The Panthers were first with a 38-yard touchdown run from Chuba Hubbard, and the Bears responded a few plays later with a 34-yard touchdown pass to former Panther DJ Moore. No other scores for the rest of the quarter and it was 7-7 at the end of the 1st.

The Panthers’ offense couldn’t get anything going in the 2nd quarter, unlike the Bears’ offense who were able to score two one-yard touchdown runs with each of their running backs, D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson, and a 30-yard touchdown pass to Moore with under a minute to go in the half for his 2nd score. Andy Dalton finished the first half with 74 passing yards as Carolina trailed 27-7 at the break.

Dalton passes to Johnathan Mingo but gets intercepted by Kevin Byard, giving the ball back to the Bears. The Panthers lost yet another player to injury, D.J. Johnson. Luckily for the Panthers, the Bears lost a touchdown due to a clipping, resulting in a 15-yard penalty. Despite this, the Bears were able to make a field goal, putting them ahead of the Panthers by 23 points. In the next drive, Panthers’ gain 61 yards in 10 plays, ending in a 27-yard field goal. The quarter ends with the Panthers still down by 20.

Shortly into the final quarter, a fight between the players as the Bears’ secure a touchdown resulting in a disqualification for Chicago’s Matt Pryor and Carolina’s Jaycee Horn. D.J. Johnson also received a penalty for unnecessary roughness. No other points were scored, ending the game with a win for the Chicago Bears.
