Investigation underway after fatal shooting near Uptown: Medic

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A man is dead after a shooting near Uptown, Medic confirmed on Tuesday.

Around 9:10 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Winding Path Way about an assault with a deadly weapon with injury. When they arrived, they found multiple shell casings and an unoccupied vehicle, officials said.

Not long after, officers responded to a similar call near the intersection of N. Davidson Street and E. 12th Street. That’s about 0.5 miles from the first call.

When they got there, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.

CMPD detectives are working to find the connection between the two incidents.
