    Independence Blvd exit ramp closed for water crews for two weeks

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An exit ramp from Independence Boulevard will be closed for another week, according to city officials.

    Charlotte Water says one eastbound lane on Independence (U.S. 74) and the exit lane for Exit 245A will remain closed for work through Oct. 17. Crews are replacing two valves and a fire hydrant.

    The closure began on Oct. 2.

    Wendover Road drivers are being detoured onto North Sharon Amity most of the next two weeks. Monroe Road can be used as an alternative.
