(PINPOINT WEATHER) — As Hurricane Milton makes landfall tonight along the central Gulf Coast of Florida, our weather here in the Carolinas remains dry. The only thing some of us have been seeing is extra clouds rolling in from the south. Thursday will be another dry, pleasant day with highs only in the low 70s. The wind will start to pick up, but not bad at all. Gusts around 20-25 mph are expected into the afternoon.

Afternoon highs will get a little warmer over the weekend, topping out around 80. That’s ahead of another cold front that won’t bring much (if any) rain early next week, but it will bring some even colder temperatures! In fact, we could have the first freezing temperatures of the season in the mountains around mid-week, which is about average in that area for the first freeze.

Tonight : Variably cloudy and cool. Low 53.

Thursday : Mostly sunny and breezy. High 72.
