    Skunk tested positive for rabies in Cleveland County

    CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — On October 10, the Cleveland County Health Department of notified of a skunk that tested positive for rabies.

    Officials say the animal was found on Clyde Street in Casar.

    This is the county’s 4th verified case of rabies in 2024.

    Any person exposed to potentially infectious saliva from an animal should contact their healthcare provider or the CCHD for a rabies risk assessment at 980-484-5169 or 980-484-5100.
