( PINPOINT WEATHER ) — Good morning and welcome to Sunday. The forecast looks incredible today, with plenty of sun and slightly warmer conditions.

We are starting a bit chilly this morning, with temperatures in the 40s. There will be a decent warm-up this afternoon though, with high temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Perfect weather for the Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway later today, along with the Panthers game versus the Falcons.

This will be the last time we touch 80 degrees for a while. Temperatures will be more November-like for the rest of the week.

A cold front will move across the region tonight, bringing only spotty showers to the mountains. We will remain dry around the Charlotte area.

That cold front will bring a bit of a breeze for Monday, with gusts between 15-25 mph.

Just a light jacket or hoodie at the bus stop on Monday morning, as temps start in the mid to upper 50s. High temperatures will top out in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

High temperatures will only be in the 60s for the rest of the week. Wednesday and Thursday will actually feel a bit chilly if you are not in direct sunlight.

We are watching for the first freeze potential in the mountains on Wednesday and Thursday morning, as temperatures will dip towards the freezing mark on both of those mornings in the high country.

A touch of frost can’t be ruled out towards the foothills and the Piedmont as well. Although that will be less likely for spots like Charlotte.

It looks like temperatures will start to warm back up a bit and turn more seasonable heading into next weekend. A return back towards the 70s.

Tropics: Weather conditions remain quiet in the tropics after an eventful 2-3 weeks. There is a tropical wave far out in the Atlantic that has a very low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next 7 days. No threats to the U.S. or the Carolinas from the tropics anytime soon.
