Motorcyclist killed in east Charlotte wreck: PD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A motorcyclist was killed in an east Charlotte wreck last week, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said on Monday.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 7:30 p.m. on Friday near 8000 Lawyers Road in east Charlotte. 46-year-old Thomas Kardos III was found suffering from injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

An initial investigation stated that Kardos was on a motorcycle when the motorcycle was struck by a pickup. Speed is suspected and a toxicology report is pending, CMPD said.

CFD, CSI, and a street racing task force were among the departments that responded to the scene.
