According to the Greensboro News & Record , Clements pleaded guilty to attacking a University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-Charlotte) student who was jogging on campus. Prior to this incident, Clements was convicted in 1988 of trying to strangle a woman in Charlottesville, Virginia, the newspaper wrote . In January 1993, he was on parole when he allegedly stalked a female jogger at Clemson University.
