(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Monday will end up being the warmest of the week here, as the coldest air of the season so far is beginning to settle into the area.

Lows waking up Tuesday morning will fall into the 40s, which many of us already felt last week. But daytime highs won’t make it out of the 60s for most, and on Wednesday, it’ll be a struggle to break out of the 50s during the day! Of course, the mountains will be even colder, so much warmer clothing will continue to be needed as cleanup and recovery continues there.

Widespread frost and below-freezing temperatures are ahead for Wednesday and Thursday, the coldest of the week. Wednesday will be breezy as well, making it feel even colder.

Most of the week is dry, but a disturbance will bring more clouds Tuesday through early Wednesday, along with some scattered showers. In the mountains, a little snow is even possible; it would be the first flakes of the season. Any sort of light accumulation will stay above 5,000 feet, but elevations down to 3,000 could at least see some flakes.

After the showers exit Wednesday morning, the rest of the week is sunny and drier again. Temperatures will start to moderate again over the weekend, with lows above freezing and highs back in the 70s.
