    1 injured in fire at Calvary Church in south Charlotte: Officials

    CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Emergency personnel in south Charlotte responded to their second fire of the day on Tuesday, this one at Calvary Church.

    Crews were on scene midday Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Calvary Church located along Pineville-Matthews Road with smoke showing.

    Medic later stated that one patient was transported to an area medical center to be treated for serious and non-life-threatening injuries. The circumstances surrounding the fire are unknown at this time and Queen City News will have more details once they’ve come into the newsroom.

    Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is also on scene and encouraged travelers to avoid the area Tuesday afternoon as the investigation continues.

    A firefighter was injured in a collapse in an overnight blaze near the Blakeney community and was transported to an area medical center for treatment.
