‘Armed and dangerous’ man wanted for allegedly stabbing girlfriend in Belmont: PD

BELMONT, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A man is wanted for stabbing his girlfriend and assaulting her and her friend, according to the Belmont Police Department.

Around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, officers responded to a reported stabbing at 513 East Avenue. An off-duty officer working at Carolina Regional Medical Center reported the incident when a woman arrived at the hospital with stab wounds from the reported address, officials said.

Police say the victim was transported to the hospital by a friend who had both been out earlier that night. Shortly after they got back to the residence at around 2:30 a.m., the victim’s boyfriend, 22-year-old Elijah Raheem Lurry, arrived angry, accusing her of ignoring his calls.

According to Belmont Police, Lurry assaulted both women and stabbed his girlfriend during the incident. He then allegedly forced them into a room where they were held for several hours before escaping and being able to get medical attention.

Authorities say Lurry fled the scene and is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows where he may be is urged to contact the Belmont Police Department at 704-825-3792.

• Attempted First-Degree Murder
• 2 counts of First-Degree Kidnapping
• Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury
• Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
• Misdemeanor Domestic Violence
• Misdemeanor Communicating Threats
