    Missing 13-year-old Monroe girl found: Sheriff

    UNION COUNTY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — The Union County Sheriff’s Office has found a missing 13-year-old girl from Monroe.

    Amaya Cardenas, 13, was reported missing by her parents on Wednesday morning, Oct. 16.

    Cardenas was last seen in the 7200 block of Pageland Highway in Monroe, wearing a black T-shirt. She’s described as 4’ 8” tall, weighing about 100 lbs, with brown eyes and brown hair.

    Deputies believe Cardenas may have left on foot. She has since been found and is currently being reunited with her family.
