CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — One person has lost their life in a homicide, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

Officials first reported the incident around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the 400 block of Falling Waters Court. This is near North Tryon Street and Rocky River Road West.

First responders were called to a high-angle rescue at that location shortly before the homicide was announced. However, authorities have not said what led up to the incident or if anyone has been arrested. CMPD said they responded to an assault call and discovered the victim when they arrived on scene.

Victim services, operations command, CFD, Medic, and CSI were among the departments that responded to the scene. Dt. Odell is the lead on the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS to speak with a CMPD homicide detective. To leave information anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or charlottecrimestoppers.com .
