    Photos: Unoccupied vehicle pulled from water in Hickory

    HICKORY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Everyone is safe after an SUV became submerged Friday morning, according to the City of Hickory.

    Around 7:39 p.m. on October 18, firefighters were called to the incident near 12 th Street Drive NW, Blue Docks. Catawba County Communications let crews know that the driver of the vehicle was able to get out, and this was confirmed once firefighters got to the scene.

    When firefighters arrived, the ladder crew noticed that the SUV was still running. The Rescue 1 crew was able to secure the vehicle so that it could be removed from the water. Catawba County Emergency Management responded to check for any spilled fuel.

    Catawba County EMS evaluated the driver. No one was hurt during the incident.
