Seven charged after Cabarrus County child solicitation sting

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Seven men have been charged after authorities say they tried to meet children for sex.

Between October 15 and 17, the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office with help from surrounding agencies set up a location where each of the men reportedly showed up believing they were meeting with a child.

All seven have been charged with Solicitation of a Child by Computer.

Grayson Blake Brooks , 23, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and is charged with the following:

• Indecent Liberties with a Child
• Conspiring to Sell/ Deliver Cocaine
• Solicitation of a Child by Computer

Brooks is being held under a $120,000 bond. He is expected in court on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Timothy Owen Nance , 45, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 15. He is charged with Solicitation of a Child by Computer and is being held on a $40,000 secured bond. He is expected in court on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Brian Richard Swedhin , 42, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 17. He is charged with Solicitation of a Child by Computer and is being held under a $40,000 secured bond. He is expected in court on Monday, Oct. 21.

Matthew Tyler Rowland , 33, was also arrested on Thursday, Oct. 17, and is charged with the following:

• Indecent Liberties with a Child
• Parole Comm. Violation
• Solicitation of a Child by Computer

Rowland was given a $60,000 secured bond for the first charge but is being held without bond due to the parole violation. He is expected in court on Thursday, Nov. 17.

Corey Jerel Woods , 38; Jerry Oneil Harrington , 62; and Joseph Daniel Pedigo , 47, were all also charged with Solicitation of a Child by Computer.
