Burlington mom accused of starving disabled adult son to death appears in court

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A Burlington mom is accused of not feeding her disabled adult son and starving him to death.

Khlimolene Oilouch is charged with second-degree murder and neglect. On Friday, she made her first appearance in Alamance County court where the judge handed down a $750,000 secured bond.

In court, Oilouch did not say much and answered the judge with only ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answers. But almost the entire time, she wiped tears away from her eyes, especially when the state showed the judge a picture of her allegedly malnourished son.

“Given the grave nature of the charges, namely, the allegation that the defendant starved her disabled son until he expired, the court is going to set a bond in this matter in the amount of $750,000 secured,” Judge Bryan Norris said.

The allegations date back to May 28 when Burlington police, fire officials and EMS went to Kivett Street for an unresponsive and malnourished man. Max Oilouch, 21, was pronounced dead, and the investigation started.

In court, we learned Max Oilouch was completely dependent on his mom for his needs and used a feeding tube.

She was arrested on Thursday and now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole on the charge of second-degree murder and she faces up to 47 months for the neglect charge.

The public defender asked for a $100,000 bond, the state asked for $1 million and the judge settled on $750,000.

In court, we heard from the public defender’s office that Khlimolene Oilouch has lived in Alamance County for 16 years and has family members in the community.

FOX8 did find four family members in the court room, but they did not have any comment.

Khlimolene Oilouch is expected back in court on Nov. 8 in Alamance County.
