Chester man killed in early-morning shooting: PD

CHESTER, S.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A man is dead after being shot early Saturday morning, according to the Chester Police Department.

Around 1 a.m. on Saturday, officers got an alert about gunfire near Spring Street and White Street. When they arrived, they found a 25-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a local hospital where was pronounced dead just before 4 a.m., officials said.

There has not been any mention of an arrest, but this is still an active investigation.
