Officials investigate a fatal, overnight crash in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The S.C. State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision that occurred overnight in Chesterfield County.

Around 12:30 a.m., officials were called to the scene on S.C. Highway 9 near Coon Creek Road.

Officials say the drivers of a 2008 Ford pickup truck and a 2013 Toyota sedan were traveling in opposite directions on S.C. 9 when they collided head-on. The driver of the Ford was not injured while the driver of the 2013 Toyota died at the scene.

Details are limited at this time. The S.C. Highway Patrol is still actively investigating the crash.
