Triangle barbers, stylists providing self-care in western North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Some Triangle barbers and stylists are heading to western North Carolina to provide some self-care for those recovering from Hurricane Helene.

Grooming Resources and Opportunities, a non-profit, will partner with the Bar Ber Shop in Raleigh to send barbers, stylists, nail techs, and massage therapists to comfort those affected by Helene.

They will travel to Spruce Pines Skyline Inn on Monday morning to spread positivity and relief for the body and soul.

“The people that I’m taking with me are all mental health advocates,” said Grooming Resources and Opportunities Founder Reggie Winston. “We have all been trained in mental health first aid. We will be able to talk to them, help them share their feelings, and give them resources.”

They will also be taking supplies to donate to families affected by the storm. To donate to help with the mission, click here .
