Powerlifting

Atlanta, Linden-Kildare and Queen City’s powerlifting programs took part in the Last Chance Qualifier Meet hosted by Maud ISD on Feb. 15.

Atlanta

Darryk Prouhn placed second in the 165s with a total lift of 1,155 pounds and teammate Austin Phelps placed third with a total lift of 1,045 pounds, Charles Tyson placed eighth in the 198s with a total lift of 865 pounds, Wesley Kennedy placed third in the 220-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,265 pounds, Kamden Kerns placed 11th in the 220-pound weight class with a total lift of 820 pounds and in the 308s Jaylen Finley placed fourth with a total lift of 1,240 pounds.

Queen City Boys

Charlie Kirkland placed second in the 165s with a total lift of 1,110 pounds, Christian Nard placed third in the 198s with a total lift of 1,195 pounds, in the 242s Ke’Idie Harrison placed second with a total lift of 1,315 pounds and in the 308s David Jackson placed third and Riley Newkirk fifth with lifts of 1,380 pound and 1,165 pounds respectively.

Queen City Girls

Abigail Leverett placed second in her weight class with a total lift of 730 pounds, Bailee Black placed fifth in her weight class with a total lift of 650 pounds and Romy Beluet placed fourth in her weight class with a total lift of 590 pounds.

Linden-Kildare Girls L-K’s girls’ squad placed second overall with a total of 33 points.

Allie Watson placed first in her weight class with a total lift of 730 pounds, MaKinah Washington placed sixth in her weight class with a total lift of 400 pounds, Nili Patel placed 10th in her weight class with a total lift of 510 pounds, Ashlyn Lee placed second in her weight class with a total lift of 655 pounds, Cadi Belford placed first in her weight class with a total lift of 795 pounds, Karina Fuentes placed fourth in her weight class with a total lift of 500 pounds and teammates Devonna Wood and Charington Taylor placed 1-2 in their weight class with total lifts of 755 and 745 pounds respectively.
