Switch Brews Coffee House & Taproom is getting ready to open later this year in Queen Creek , located at 20850 E Heritage Loop Rd .
This concept has been a long time coming for owner Brandan Griffiths , who was inspired during the pandemic when he says our sense of community was taken from us. As a result, he wanted to open something local and available for everyone throughout the day. Flash forward to today, and he’s getting ready to open just that with Switch Brews, which will feature a cafe in the morning and a taproom in the evening, with 24 self-serving taps. Switch Brews is expected to open in December 2024 .
While the concept is based on two different times of the day, Griffiths tells What Now Phoenix that he wants to mix it up to an extent. Coffee from various local roasters will be available in the evening, while some alcoholic drinks will be available in the late afternoon. The self-serve taproom will have a variety of 18 local beers, and six will be a variety of non-alcoholics, wines, and other options that aren’t strictly beer. There won’t be a full-service kitchen at Switch Brews, but the company is planning to partner with the taco shop next door, Rili-B’s Taco Shop Queen Creek, which will bring the food to customers within the building. The company plans to offer a handful of pastries and small bites in the mornings.
The biggest change customers will notice from morning to afternoon will be the establishment’s vibe. In the morning, the owners plan to have a kid’s corner where parents can watch their kids while they enjoy a cup of coffee. Once the afternoon picks up, the kid’s corner will be put away, and the music and lighting will change. A handful of small table games will be available, but nothing has been set in stone, as the owners don’t want to make this a gimmicky concept. Instead, they hope to create something that really emphasizes community. No matter what time of the day, this will be an excellent place to hang out and see new and old friends.
“Switch Brews offers locally roasted coffee in a family-friendly coffee house environment,” according to the company’s website. “Mid-day, the environment switches to a taproom serving craft brews from an innovative auto pour tap wall. Brew selection will rotate weekly where we highlight favorite brews from the local community. Switch Brews allows for a unique experience with less waiting, the ability to sample a variety of brews, and compare favorites with local Arizona craft brew enthusiasts.”
