Mets Monday Morning GM: 3 trade targets who make more sense now than they did a month ago
The MLB trade deadline is fun but if you don’t like things moving quickly, you better get out of the way. Things change quickly. The needs for the New York Mets have already flipped a ton. Injuries, underperformances, and the price for certain players have all swayed while giving...
Giants Blake Snell stance makes him a perfect Mets trade target
In a surprise turn of events, the San Fransisco Giants have begun shopping their coveted free agent acquisition, Blake Snell, ahead of the 2024 MLB trade deadline. This comes as a result of the market for the pitchers being quite a bit hotter than expected. AJ Puk was moved for a potential 30 homer prospect from the Diamondbacks. Carlos Estevez was moved for two potential star pitching prospects. With Tarik Skubal basically coming off the market and Garrett Crochet requiring an extension to pitch into October, the Giants saw an opportunity to toss Snell on the market to see what he would return.

It’s Sunday, July 28, and the Atlanta Braves (55-48) and New York Mets (55-49) conclude their 4-game series at Citi Field in New York, NY. With the win the Braves move a half-game in front of the Mets in both the National League East as well as the Wild Card standings.
Mets vs. Twins prediction: MLB odds, picks, best bets for Monday
Democratic donors raised $200M to make America cackle again. Donald Trump is suing ABC News and George “Slopadopoulus” for more. Billy Joel saw the lights go out on Broadway after playing his last show at MSG, but Paris started the fire to open the Olympics and started a second one when drag queens enjoyed their gluten-free, lactose-intolerant “Last Supper.”
David Stearns must remember vital Mets’ truth at MLB trade deadline
Everyone should dare to dream. That includes Mets fans even after this 18-inning weekend spanking by the Braves reminded everyone to pump the brakes a little bit before calling this team a juggernaut. It was 9-2 for Atlanta on Sunday following the Braves’ 4-0 victory in Queens on Saturday that...

Mets DFA Jake Diekman in surprise move after Subway Series heroics
Less than a week ago, Jake Diekman was the hero of the Subway Series, striking out Aaron Judge. Now, he’s out of a job. The Mets designated the struggling left-hander for assignment on Monday in a somewhat surprising move. In his place, they called up fellow southpaw Matt Gage.
Mets vs. Twins preview, pick: Royce Lewis return spells bad news for Jose Quintana
While the Mets have been among MLB’s hottest offenses over the past few months, I believe they’re due to slow down a bit, slashing a just-above-average .233/.300/.442 over the past week. Conversely, the Twins are heating up at the right time. With rookie Brooks Lee joining the big-league...

Olson homers again but López leaves with injury as Braves rout Mets 9-2 for 4-game split
NEW YORK (AP) — Matt Olson homered in consecutive games for the first time this season, and the Atlanta Braves overcame an injury to All-Star starter Reynaldo López in a 9-2 rout against the New York Mets on Sunday. Austin Riley, Orlando Arcia and Ramón Laureano also went deep for the Braves, who salvaged a four-game split after losing the first two games of the series. They hold the top National League wild card and moved 1 1/2 games ahead of New York for second place in the NL East. “That’s a good win for our team,” manager Brian Snitker said. “It’s encouraging. Maybe we’re breathing some life into that offense.” López pitched three shutout innings, lowering his major league-leading ERA to 2.06, before exiting with right forearm tightness. He is day-to-day and headed back to Atlanta for an MRI. The Braves already have a string of star players on the injured list.

Unfortunately, they were unable to do so as New York lost their second-straight game and split the series with the Braves. The Mets were defeated 9-2 at Citi Field on Sunday in the series finale.
