Frank The Tank Embarrasses Himself In Front Of The Mets
Frank The Tank just made himself look like an absolute buffoon in Chicago. With the New York Mets visiting the Cubs, the infamous Barstool Sports personality attended the game. His fame largely came due to countless tweets and videos lambasting the Mets for their struggles in no uncertain terms. He has called players, managers, and even owner Steve Cohen every name in the book as they search for their first World Series title since 1986. However, check out what he does in this video. The guy that constantly rips into the team is nowhere to be found when face to face with manager Carlos Mendoza:
Rather than standing on everything he says, Frank folded like a cheap tent. He continues to be a complete embarrassment for the Mets and their fans. Obviously, they are struggling but it isn’t like they are the only team in the MLB going through a rough pass. The New York market is notoriously harsh, and it’s people like him that contribute to the borderline toxic environment. You don’t have to tell Mendoza that the media is a minefield to navigate. However, he handled this interaction perfectly. He was ready to hear whatever criticism Frank had for him. Instead, Frank goes on to ask for an autograph and sheepishly tells him he’s hoping for a win.
Mets For Clicks?
There’s actually other positivity coming towards the Mets believe it or not. Ever since the McDonald’s character Grimace threw out the first pitch at Citi Field last week, they have been on fire. What seemed like another season dead in the water turned completely on its head. They went on a seven-game winning streak that pulled them to within one game of the NL Wild Card. Another boost for them was Francisco Alvarez’s return behind the plate. As a result, their opponents today picked up the recently released Tomas Nido in a separate transaction . At the time of writing, New York is currently hammering Cubs ace Shota Imanaga with eight hits and seven runs through only three innings. You think the players were ready to put on a show given who was in attendance?
Frank Fleming either needs to be a man and stand on his online remarks in person or keep his mouth shut. The New York Mets are playing really good baseball right now so he should just enjoy the ride. If not he will continue to embarrass himself.
