His fame largely came due to countless tweets and videos lambasting the Mets for their struggles in no uncertain terms. He has called players, managers, and even owner Steve Cohen every name in the book as they search for their first World Series title since 1986. However, check out what he does in this video. Rather than standing on everything he says, Frank folded like a cheap tent. He continues to be a complete embarrassment for the Mets and their fans. Obviously, they are struggling but it isn’t like they are the only team in the MLB going through a rough pass. The New York market is notoriously harsh, and it’s people like him that contribute to the borderline toxic environment. You don’t have to tell Mendoza that the media is a minefield to navigate. However, he handled this interaction perfectly. He was ready to hear whatever criticism Frank had for him. Instead, Frank goes on to ask for an autograph and sheepishly tells him he’s hoping for a win.
