Yankees lineup shuffled again vs Mets for Wednesday's Subway Series finale

The final game of the 2024 Subway Series goes down Wednesday night in the Bronx with the Yankees and Mets playing for the fourth time this season.

After making headlines by maneuvering around his lineup versus the Mets last night, manager Aaron Boone continues to shuffle the order around outside of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, now having Gleyber Torres in the lead off spot.

This matchup has been one sided so far, with the Mets winning all three games and looking to complete the two-game sweep at Yankee Stadium just as they did at Citi Field last month.

The Yankees took an early 1-0 lead Tuesday night, thanks to a Torres home run in the second inning. However, the Mets' would respond, jumping out to a 3-1 lead in the sixth on a two-run home run from Jeff McNeil, his fourth homer in five games post All-Star Break.

Despite the Bronx Bombers responding with an RBI double from Alex Verdugo in the bottom half of the inning to cut the Mets' lead in half, the Yankees couldn't get on the board again, suffering their third defeat in five games to begin the second half.

If the Mets take care of business again tonight, it'll be the first time since 2013 that they complete the season series sweep over the Yankees.

Both organizations are in luck getting good injury news, with Mets' ace Kodai Senga making his first start of the season at Citi Field versus the Braves on Friday, and the Yankees getting Giancarlo Stanton and Jaason Dominguez back in the Bronx seemingly sooner rather than later to help this struggling lineup outside of Judge and Soto.
