CLARKSVILLE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A 20-year-old from Queensbury was pulled from a Clarksville cave after crews worked for hours to save him. Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says the entire process took five hours and the man escaped with very minor injuries.

Apple says a group entered the cave and the 20-year-old got stuck trying to exit. A variety of pulley systems were assembled to help free the hiker.

Apple says the Albany County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue team assisted Onesquathaw Fire, NYS Fire, Slingerlands Rescue, and doctors from Albany Medical Center. At this time, the Clarksville Cave will be temporarily closed until preserve managers clear it.
