    Deputies: Queensbury man promoted prison contraband during visit

    FORT EDWARD, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A Queensbury man was arrested after allegedly promoting prison contraband during a visit to the Washington County Jail. Keith Powell, 73, faces two charges.

    According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Powell visited the Washington County Jail and brought narcotics with him, introducing them to the facility. An investigation led to his arrest.

    Charges:

    • First-degree promoting prison contraband
    • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
    One dead in Milton house fire

    Powell was arraigned at Washington County Centralized Arraignment Court and released on his own recognizance. He is set to appear in the Town of Fort Edward Court at a later date.
