Queenstown Bank celebrates 125 years

QUEENSTOWN — Thanking the community for over a century of support, the Queenstown Bank held a 125th anniversary party at the main branch in Queenstown on June 26.

The celebratory extravaganza welcomed the warm summer weather and presented free festivities for the whole family, including a barbecue cooked up by the Queenstown Volunteer Fire Department, frosty snowballs, music, a photo booth, balloon animals, a dunk tank and classic cars, as well as giveaways and information.

Queenstown Bank has nine branches across the Eastern Shore. The bank’s official anniversary was July 1.

“We wanted to do something to really thank the community,” said marketing manager Brandon Silverstein.

Putting people first, including customers and employees has been the secret to Queenstown Bank’s success, he said.

“We always try to do the right thing,” Silverstein said.

The Queenstown branch has been the bank’s original and main location since the early 1900s.

“We’ve always been right here in downtown Queenstown. We are proud to be here with the community today in celebration,” bank President Kevin Cashen said.

Cashen credited great teams across the Eastern Shore and bank board of directors for their commitment.

“We’ve got a lot of good local people,” he said.

Kicking off the anniversary celebration, Queenstown Bank has been holding free summer lunch Fridays at various branches around the community.
