    Queenstown grad awarded STAR Scholarship

    Bethany McLaughlin, a graduate of Chestertown Christian Academy and a resident of Queenstown, was recently awarded the P.E.O. STAR Scholarship for $2500. The scholarship is in recognition of her academic excellence as well as her leadership skills, extracurricular activities, and community service. Bethany is the daughter of Patrick McLaughlin, a Queen Anne’s County Commissioner, and his wife, Karsten. Bethany plans to attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. to study nursing.

    P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) is one of the largest community-based women’s organizations in the US with almost 250,000 members who are committed to helping women achieve their educational goals.
