State Rep. Merski to host Second Chance event to help those with nonviolent criminal histories
(WJET/WFXP) – A state representative announced an event with the opportunity for Erie residents with non-violent criminal histories to get back on their feet. State Rep. Bob Merski announced plans to host a Second Chance Event on Tuesday, July 30, for those with prior nonviolent misdemeanors who are looking to re-enter the job force.
Triple Fatal Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-76, PA Turnpike
The deadly crash involved a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer at mile marker 268.8 at 4:24 a.m., authorities detailed. All three occupants of the passenger vehicle died at the scene at 6:35 a.m., according to the coroner's office. They were a 43-year-old Black man, an 18-year-old Black man, and a girl. Their bodies have been taken to Lancaster County Forensic Center for autopsies. Their names will be released once their families have been notified.

Federal Authorities Investigates Schuylkill County Helicopter Crash
HEGINS – WHTM is reporting… Federal authorities are investigating a helicopter crash in Schuylkill County. First responders were called to Wood Lane in Hegins Township just north of the village of Hegins around 1 p.m. for a helicopter down. Shower and storm chances increase to kick-off workweek
Hopefully you enjoyed the sun today because we start to turn unsettled again into the start of the workweek. Another wave of moisture lifts in our direction making for hit or miss storms Monday afternoon and evening. This active trend holds into Tuesday with an area of low pressure working toward the region. Once again, this brings the threat of a few thunderstorms later in the day into Tuesday night. The higher chance arrives overnight into Wednesday though. The latter half of the day looks drier as this disturbance departs. We set our sights on a cold frontal passage on Thursday though and this brings the potential for more widespread showers and storm. At this time, the threat of severe weather is looking really low. Behind this system, the humidity relaxes a little but we don't tap into much cooler of an airmass. Highs dip back into the mid-80s with dew points likely falling into the upper 50 and lower 60s. Highs then rebound quickly as upper ridging develops into next weekend. The lower to mid-90s are on the docket later in the 10-Day along with more sunshine. We can't rule out some stray storms popping up in the heating of the day though by Monday and Tuesday of the following week. The heat continues to hold for the middle part of next week with highs hanging into the middle-90s.

Staten Island FerryHawks drop second in a row in Lancaster

Plenty of sunshine with high clouds over bring a brighter second half to the weekend. It won’t feel to terribly uncomfortable either, just hot. Highs return to near 90°. Our next disturbance and wave of moisture lifts from the southeast bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day Monday. Higher chances are expected during the afternoon and evening, but the morning could see hit or miss showers. Temperatures drop back to the low 80s.
