August 19, 1990 — Now that the Town of Stanley has purchased the Hawksbill Recreation Park, town leaders are seeking the help of local organizations and individuals. Already, town crews have made improvements to the general grounds and much work has been done by Recreation Director Chuck Short to refurbish a cottage on the grounds. In addition, Bill and Hazel Mills rebuilt the kitchen on the second floor of the bathhouse with help from local businesses, groups and residents.
