Maryland State Police say Virginia State Police supervisors authorized Amber Alert pursuit that ended in MD crash
VIRGINIA BEACH. VA (AP/CVILLE RIGHT NOW) —Maryland State Police have clarified because Virginia State Police were pursuing a vehicle in Virginia with a felony abduction suspect, Virginia State Police supervision authorized the pursuit continue across the Maryland state line. Maryland State Police Maj. Adam Stachurski said they are the lead investigative agency in the crash that ended the pursuit on I-495 at Branch Avenue in Prince George’s County, MD. He said they received a call for assistance from Virginia State Police and arrived about two minutes after the crash. Stuchurski said while one of the children was transported via helicopter to Children’s Medical Center in DC where he died a short time later, 36-year old Dana Plummer, who allegedly kidnapped the children from a Virginia Beach home, and the two other children were in stable condition at area hospitals.

Two pedestrians killed in Weyers Cave
WEYERS CAVE, VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Two people were killed Saturday evening, when they were struck by a van, while leaving a concert at Valley Pike Farm Market in Weyers Cave. The incident occurred at 9:13 p.m. shortly after the end of the concert. Virginia State Police say the victims were struck by a van, heading northbound on Route 11 (Lee Highway) near the interchange with Fadley Road. First responders administered first aid on arrival, but both were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
