Dealing With Negativity In A Peaceful Way

    2022-10-25

When Life hits you in the face, how do you behave?

When everything goes smoothly, we’re happy. Our needs are fulfilled, at least the necessary ones, so we have the luxury to generate more needs. When everything goes smoothly, we’re overly optimistic.

During “happy times,” we have the choice to learn, or not to. It’s during such times that most of us don’t realize the miracle we’ve been gifted with. We take things for granted.

Eventually, Life knocks to our door, and tells us it’s time to put everything we’ve learned into practice.

Out of the blue, we’re hit by events, one after the other, shattering our world to pieces.

When nothing goes smoothly, we’re not happy. Everything seems to be against us. We feel small, insignificant, powerless to change our situation. When nothing goes smoothly, we’re overly pessimistic.

During challenging times, as counter-intuitive as it may sound — we also have the choice to learn, or not to. It’s during such times that most of us realize the miracle we’ve once been gifted with. We learn not to take things for granted — especially our challenging times, which have the potential to catapult us upward in our evolutionary journey.

Right now, you may feel like your world is crumbling apart. Whether rich or poor, healthy or not, surrounded with people or utterly lonely — we’re all under pressure. Anxiety, uncertainty and fears perfume the atmosphere.

    We’re a whole, after all.

A few months from now, how do you want to look back at your challenging times? Being happy when we’re fine, and miserable when we’re not clearly shows our well-being is dependent on the outer world.

Is this the way we want to live our lives? Like cogs in a machine, at the mercy of occult forces? Haven’t we blamed others, felt sorry for ourselves and refused to look at things differently for too long?

We are the transition from instincts to choice. When are we going to honor ourselves, own our power to choose, and embody its qualities in our daily lives?

A few months from now, things may get better, or they may not. Does it matter? What does is learning to make amends with Life. Do we truly know what will make us “happy”? Do we truly know everyone’s agendas, every event’s purpose? If we did, why would we incarnate with the purpose to learn?

As we go through newer situations that demand newer behaviors on our part — we’re transforming ourselves. This constant movement is living. Living molds us. And that’s growth — as long as we heal our resistance.

We’ve all had events in which we “whined” and got “saved” at the end. Looking back at those, we realize we were crybabies. While there’s nothing wrong with it. At some point, learning to be okay with Life as it is, is proof of maturity.

And right now, that’s what our world needs — maturity. While most souls are panicking, infesting the atmosphere with obscurity— it’s up to mature souls to stand tall, be still and know how to be lighthouses.

When nothing is “okay,” that’s when we demonstrate what we’re made of. Making the world safer and kinder is less difficult than we make it. It starts simple. It starts with taking care of ourselves. With understanding ourselves. With being patient with ourselves. With giving ourselves space.

As we learn to be there for ourselves, we naturally become there for others, and the world.

For the next time you look back at your challenging times, make it so that you’re proud of how you handled your anger and frustration instead of throwing it on people who didn’t deserve it.

For the next time you look back at your challenging times, make it so that you’re proud of how you kept your head above water regardless of how much pain and suffering you experienced and contained.

For the next time you look back at your challenging times, make it so that you’re proud of having believed a better life was waiting for you regardless of the fact that everything tried to prove you otherwise.

It’s all in your hands now.
