PITTSTON, Maine — A quiet Monday night took a violent turn in Pittston as a homeowner shot an intruder who allegedly broke into his home. According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Palmer Road.

The homeowner, whose identity has not been disclosed, called 911 after the intruder reportedly kicked in the door of his residence.
