Summer Enrichment: A Dive into Learning and Creativity

RAHWAY, NJ — This summer, the Rahway Summer Enrichment Camp was a whirlwind of learning, creativity, and fun! Students from grades 1 to 6 were immersed in a variety of engaging projects that sparked their curiosity and challenged their minds.

Our older campers, in grades 5 and 6, channeled their inner entrepreneurs by designing and building arcade games, inspired by the incredible story of Caine Monroy. They transformed their classroom into a vibrant arcade, showcasing their teamwork, problem-solving, and design skills.

Meanwhile, fourth graders stepped into the roles of urban planners, rebuilding a city ravaged by Godzilla. They applied math, science, and social studies knowledge to tackle this real-world challenge, demonstrating their ability to collaborate and think critically.

Third-graders embarked on an underwater adventure, exploring marine life. Students transformed into budding marine biologists, researching fascinating creatures, creating informative posters, and designing thriving habitats to accommodate their needs. To apply their math skills in a fun and practical way, they transformed their classroom into a bustling aquarium, tackling real-world challenges like budgeting, measurement, and time management.

Second-graders had a blast exploring various themes, from creating their own books and food trucks to delving into the wonders of outer space and mastering math skills through fun activities.

Our youngest campers, the first-graders, brought stories to life through a captivating production of The Three Little Pigs , while also strengthening their math foundations. They also experienced the thrill of designing their own roller coasters and using marbles to test their designs.

Our students in grades 3 through 6 also dipped their toes into the world of coding with Python! They learned the secrets of this powerful language used by YouTube and game developers. Students started with the basics and built their skills through fun projects and animations.

The Rahway Summer Enrichment Camp was more than just a program; it was a platform for students to discover their passions, build confidence, and create lasting memories. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to even more exciting adventures next summer!
