    Union County Center Providing Citizenship Help Moves to Rahway

    UNION COUNTY, NJ — A center in the county that provides services to immigrants seeking U.S. Citizenship has moved to Rahway from its former location in Elizabeth.

    “The Union County center for We Are One New Jersey has relocated from 288 Broad Street in Elizabeth to a new facility Irving Street in Rahway,” County Commissioner Bette Jane Kowalski said at the July 17 commissioners' board meeting.

    The new We Are One New Jersey - Union County Center at 1591 Irving St. in Rahway is within walking distance of Rahway Train Station and the New Jersey transit bus line serving the area, according to a county announcement .

    We Are One New Jersey provides a variety of services including U.S. citizenship applications help, preparatory classes for the citizenship test and referral, notary and translation services at low or no cost.

    “These services are really invaluable for helping legal immigrants integrate into their communities and achieve U.S. citizenship,” Kowalski said.

    The center, which opened in 2015, has been a “cornerstone for immigrant advocacy and support in Union County,” according to Commissioner Chairperson Kimberly Palmieri-Mouded.

    “Our new location in Rahway will allow us to better serve the Union County community and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our new office and continuing our mission of providing essential support to those navigating the path to citizenship,” Palmieri-Mouded added.
